Programs
Are you a high school student interested in a technical program to start developing a trade skill while in school? Let’s talk – we can help you connect with a nearby program.
Start training in high school
There are almost 300 high school programs and career and technical centers in the state, so we know there is a program near you that you can join. Jumpstart your career and join the almost 6,000 students already enrolled.
Certifications & Credentials
All high schools in Mississippi have gone through a tough certification process to become an NCCER Accredited Training and Education Facility (ATEF). Each CTE center has to meet certain criteria and guidelines to gain the accreditation and to remain an active program recognized by the Mississippi Department of Education.
Apprenticeships
It’s true. You can join one of our 4-year apprenticeships to learn a career-building skill and start making money immediately.
To ensure the best training, all our apprenticeship instructors are either NCCER-certified or the state’s industry leader. NCCER is the construction industry’s training, assessment, certification and career development standard for the construction and maintenance craft professionals.
Open new doors, network, and find flexible learning opportunities that fit your lifestyle.

Certifications & Credentials
We partner with the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) so that you graduate with industry-recognized and respected credentials.
After you earn your NCCER core certification, you can start earning a Level 1 certification if you want to advance. This credential provides you with more extensive knowledge and skills of your desired trade.
Let's talk numbers. What can I earn?
We compiled apprentice salaries from some of our construction company partners, and we can confirm… you will make great money even in just your first year.
Year 1 | $14-$16/hr ($29k – $33k) | $5,250 – $6k add’t if work 250 hrs OT |
Year 2 | $16-$18/hr ($33k – $37.5k) | $6k – $6,750 add’t if work 250 hrs OT |
Year 3 | $18-$20/hr ($37.5k – $41.5k) | $6,750 – $7,500 add’t if work 250 hrs OT |
Year 4 | $20-$22/hr ($41.5 k – $46k) | $7,500 – $8,250 add’t if work 250 hrs OT |
The above are averages and cannot be guaranteed.
These overtime hours are conservative for the industry. This means you could be making almost $60k by your 4th year.
Specifications
You must be 18 years older and have a high school diploma or GED to become a registered apprentice with the Department of Labor.
Classes started in August and enrollment will open again in November for classes starting in January.
The apprenticeship is $500 a year and will either be covered by your employer or self-paid. Your next employer will most likely reimburse you. If you will be paying for the program yourself, you can apply for our $500 scholarship once accepted in an apprenticeship program. If you’re in high school and want to apply for the scholarship, you can do that here!
